"Religious invasion was labelled as loot. - PM Narendra Modi"

Somnath, January 11

A young girl named Jyoti Solanki, an admirer of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attended the Shaurya Sabha organised as part of the Somnath Swabhiman Parv.

Hailing from Ratidhar village in Talala, she enthusiastically presented an artistic sketch depicting Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and the success of Operation Sindoor at the Shaurya Sabha, a CMO release said.

Jyoti, a Class 10 student, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working tirelessly for the nation's progress in a selfless manner. She added that the success of Operation Sindoor in safeguarding the country and protecting it from terrorism inspired her to create this artistic sketch.

Notably, the sketch features a portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the artistic inscription "OPERATION SINDOOR", symbolising the bravery of the Indian armed forces. The date of the Operation Sindoor has also been mentioned.

A large gathering at the Shaurya Sabha witnessed the energetic and inspiring address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

At the Shaurya Sabha held during the Somnath Swabhiman Parv on Sunday, people displayed placards carrying messages such as Eternal and Indestructible Somnath (Sashwat ane Avinashi Somnath), Undivided India - Undivided Somnath, thereby bringing to light the saga of Somnath as a symbol of India's identity.

The placards reflected the aspirations of modern India, according to a release.

PM Modi's vision was prominently highlighted, showcasing inspiring messages displayed. The attendees at the Shaurya Sabha welcomed the PM's arrival by holding placards.

Addressing a massive gathering after the culmination of the Shaurya Yatra, the Prime Minister hit out at "people with a colonial mindset" in post-Independence historical narratives, attempting to "erase history" of India's glorious past.

PM asserted that some historians and politicians tried to distort accounts of historical invasions in textbooks, where "religious invasion was labelled as loot".

"Unfortunately, after independence, people with a colonial mindset tried to get rid of our glorious past. They tried all they could to erase history. Those who fought for the Somnath Temple were not given their due recognition and importance. Some historians and politicians even tried to whitewash the history of these invaders. Religious invasion was labelled as loot. We have been taught in our textbooks that the Somnath Temple was demolished to loot its treasures. The cruel history of hate, atrocities and terror was hidden from us," PM Modi said.

While it's great to see youth engagement, I hope the focus remains on the valour of our soldiers and not just political figures. Our jawans are the real heroes of Operation Sindoor. The event at Somnath, a symbol of our resilience, is a perfect place to remember that.

The PM's point about colonial mindset in our history books is long overdue. Generations grew up reading a sanitised version. It's time our children learn the true, unvarnished history of our civilisational struggles and triumphs. Jai Somnath!

As someone who has visited Somnath, the atmosphere there is truly powerful. Combining that spiritual energy with a celebration of modern military success and a call for historical honesty is a very potent message. Kudos to the young artist.

Respectfully, while we must honour our past, we must be careful not to replace one biased narrative with another. History should be about facts, not politics. Let's teach our kids to analyse, not just to admire or condemn. The girl's sketch is lovely though.

"Undivided India - Undivided Somnath" – This sentiment on the placards gives me goosebumps! Somnath's reconstruction after repeated invasions is the ultimate symbol of India's eternal spirit. Proud to see the new generation carrying this torch forward. ✨
