BRO rescues 20 vehicles stuck in snow in J-K's Bandipora

At least 20 vehicles stuck in snow were rescued by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora, officials said on Tuesday.

According to BRO, the rescue was carried out in a joint operation by a team of BRO along with Jammu and Kashmir police and Bandipora district administration.

The incident happened on Monday late night near Zadkhus Nallah and Razdan Top in Bandipora area, the officials said.

"A team of Border Road Organisations (BRO), along with Jammu and Kashmir Police and District Administration in Bandipora, rescued at least 20 vehicles that were stuck in the snow near Zadkhus Nallah and Razdan Top late last night," the BRO statement mentioned.

Snow has started to blanket the upper reaches in many regions across the valley announcing the onset of winter season.

Project Beacon of the BRO have initiated works to clear snow on several areas uphill.

As per the officials, Bandipora-Gurez Road is closed due to snowfall.
