Telangana district court judge arrested in DA case
Hyderabad (Telangana) , Nov 15 : The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested additional district judge of Ranga Reddy court Vaidya Vara Prasad and remanded him to 14-day judicial custody in connection with a disproportionate assets case.
According to Telangana's ACB Director General J. Purnachandra Rao, on the orders of the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad on November 13, a case of disproportionate assets to his known sources of income was registered against Prasad under Sections 13(1)(b) r/w 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
As part of the investigation, the ACB conducted searches at the residences of Prasad at Saroor Nagar, Kondapur. The agency also searched the residences of Prasad's associates at four places in Hyderabad, three places in Sircilla and two places in Maharashtra.
During the raids several documents related to assets and huge expenditure were unearthed, said the Director General adding that it revealed Prasad along with his family made several foreign trips incurring huge expenditure.
