'Censors will side with you if you handle content responsibly'
Mumbai, Oct 11 : "Veere Di Wedding" director Shashanka Ghosh says if content is handled responsibly, the censors will be ready to side with filmmakers.
Giving his take on surviving censors, Ghosh said in a statement: "I feel that when your intent is to tell a story and the censorable acts are not just to sensationalise, then censors will side with you - if you have chosen to handle it responsibly."
While his "Veere Di Wedding" was a slice-of-life drama about four friends, "Hey Prabhu" is a digital web series for millennials.
On making relatable stories for today's audience, he said: "My recent project ('Hey Prabhu'), follows a guy who has seen massive digital success along with some serious and timeless analogue problems. So yes, I feel the series will have a lot of people saying, 'Yeah, that's what happens in my life.'"
He said his mantra of tackling sensitive scenes on-screen is simple -- "sensitivity".
