New Delhi, Dec 2 : To demand fast-track dealing of rape cases and death penalty for the accused, Swati Maliwal, the chief of Delhi Commission for Woman, will sit on an indefinite hunger strike from Tuesday.
"First she will pray at the Rajghat at 930 a.m. and then go straight to Jantar Mantar from there," an official statement said.
Maliwal tweeted that she will not end her hunger strike until the Centre announces that rapists will be served death penalty and that rape cases will be resolved within six months.
