Mumbai: Pradhan inaugurates Bio-Diesel Plant set up by Austrian firm Muenzer
New Delhi, Feb 14 : Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday inaugurated 'energy from waste' biodiesel plant in Navi Mumbai.
Pradhan inaugurated the plant via video conference.
The plant will convert used cooking oil into Bio-Diesel, an innovative model of converting #Waste2Wealth and is further expected to add to India's energy security and help create alternate sources of energy.
I am happy that they have accepted my offer to invest in Indian Biofuel program. Inauguration of this Bio-Diesel plant, formally marks the entry of Muenzer Bioindustrie in India, Pradhan said.
The Muenzer plant apart from meeting requirements of Bio-diesel will also be a big step in creating awareness, supply chain infrastructure and setting an example for other potential players. This will be Mumbai's first 100% UCO (Used Cooking Oil) based bio-diesel plant.
I am sure, Muenzer Bharat Pvt. Ltd will bring to India the expertise built over a period of time in Europe, in establishing the entire value chain of creating energy from waste. We look forward to Muenzer for setting up several more such plants in other major cities of India, he added.
