New Delhi, June 8

Highlighting the NDA government's efforts to redefine women-led development in the last 11 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that various government initiatives are intended to empower the country's "Nari Shakti."

In a post on X, PM Modi said that women are excelling and inspiring several people in all sectors, including science, education, sports, StartUps and the armed forces.

"Over the last 11 years, the NDA Government has redefined women-led development. Various initiatives, from ensuring dignity through Swachh Bharat to financial inclusion via Jan Dhan accounts, the focus has been on empowering our Nari Shakti," PM Modi said.

"In all sectors, including science, education, sports, StartUps and the armed forces, women are excelling and inspiring several people," the Prime Minister said.

PM Modi highlighted the key schemes launched by his government, such as Ujjwala Yojana and the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme. "Ujjwala Yojana brought smoke-free kitchens to several homes. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi has underlined the far-reaching impact of the government's pro-farmer initiatives over the past 11 years, marking a significant phase of dignity and prosperity for the agricultural community.

He highlighted key initiatives such as the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and Kisan Fasal Bima, describing them as important steps taken by the government for the welfare of farmers.

The Prime Minister also noted that due to the continuous increase in Minimum Support Price (MSP), the country's food producers are not only receiving fair prices for their crops but are also experiencing a rise in their income.

PM Modi emphasised that it has been a privilege for his government to serve the hardworking farmers of the country. Reflecting on the last 11 years, he said that the government's various initiatives have not only enhanced prosperity among farmers but have also contributed to an overall transformation of the agriculture sector.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the government has paid close attention to key aspects such as soil health and irrigation, which have been greatly beneficial.

PM Modi further stated that our efforts towards farmer welfare will continue with greater vigour in the times to come. He said that we have worked on dignity and prosperity for our farmers.

"Earlier, our farmer brothers and sisters were forced to borrow money even for small needs, but in the last 11 years, our government's decisions have made their lives much easier. Be it PM Kisan Samman Nidhi or Kisan Fasal Bima, we have taken many important steps for their welfare. Now, with the continuous increase in MSP, the country's food producers are not only getting a fair price for their crops, but their income is also increasing," said PM in a post on X in Hindi.

On May 26, 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took oath as the Prime Minister for the first time.

As a woman entrepreneur who got my first loan through MUDRA scheme, I can vouch for these initiatives. Started my catering business 3 years back and now employ 6 other women. More power to Nari Shakti! 🇮🇳

While I appreciate the focus on women empowerment, I wish the government would also address safety concerns more effectively. Schemes are good but women still don't feel safe in many public spaces.

Ujjwala Yojana changed my grandmother's life in our village. No more coughing from chulha smoke! But implementation needs monitoring - many refill cylinders are too expensive for poor families. 👍

My daughter is in IAF today because of changing mindsets and opportunities. But we must remember real change starts at home - no scheme can replace family support for girls' education and careers.

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao worked wonders in Haryana! Our village now celebrates girl child's birth with same enthusiasm as boys. But need more women in local governance too - panchayats still male-dominated.

Good to see women excelling, but what about equal pay? My wife is a scientist but earns less than male colleagues with same qualifications. Schemes are good first step, but need deeper systemic reforms.
