Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a 'Janta Darshan' on Thursday at the Gorakhnath Temple premises.

During the Janta Darshan, the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister listened to the grievances of people from various districts and assured them of prompt redressal.

Visuals from the event showed CM Yogi interacting directly with citizens and issuing instructions to officials to take swift action on the matters raised.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of Shravan Shivratri, the Chief Minister performed Rudrabhishek at the ancient Mansarovar Temple in Andhiyari Bagh on Wednesday.

The ritual was performed with sacred items including Bilva Patra, lotus flowers, Durva grass, water, cow milk, and sugarcane juice. Priests from the Gorakhnath Temple conducted the ritual while chanting Mahamantras from the Rudrashtadhyayi of the Shukla Yajurveda Samhita.

CM Yogi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development projects worth RS 253 crore in Gorakhpur.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the state's first Urban Flood Management Cell and Early Warning System.

Addressing the public, the Uttar Pradesh CM noted Gorakhpur's impressive performance in the Swachh Survekshan awards.

"Earlier, we gave a target to Gorakhpur Municipal Corporation during the Shivratri of Shravan month. The target for Gorakhpur was to come in the top ten in its category of the Swachhata Survey in India. I appreciate the whole team of the Municipal Corporation, which has sanitation workers, councillors, and cleanliness committees," CM Yogi said.

GVMC Visakhapatnam, Jabalpur, and Gorakhpur were declared Best SaifaiMitra Surakshit Shehar for their outstanding commitment to the safety and dignity of sanitation workers in the Swachh Survekshan award ceremony.

While I appreciate the religious rituals, I wish our leaders would spend equal time on women's safety issues. Development projects are good but what about basic security for women in UP? Just my thoughts...

As someone working in urban development, I must say Gorakhpur's cleanliness ranking improvement is impressive. From being one of the dirtiest cities to top 10 - that's real transformation! The sanitation workers deserve appreciation.
