The Delhi-Jaipur Expressway is set to receive two critical flyovers at Manesar and Bilaspur intersections to address severe traffic congestion. By the end of June, construction work will commence after tenders were issued and eight companies submitted bids. The project aims to not only reduce traffic jams but also significantly decrease accident rates for the approximately 80,000 daily vehicles. Two strategic flyovers planned at Manesar and Bilaspur to reduce congestion and prevent accidents on high-traffic highway

"The construction of flyovers will reduce accidents significantly - NHAI Official"

Gurugram, May 4

Two major intersections on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway will soon be congestion-free as the construction work of two flyovers will start by the end of June at the Manesar and Bilaspur intersections on the Expressway.

An official said that for this project, a tender has been opened, and eight construction companies have participated in the tender process.

“The process of allotting work will start during June, and the work will start at the ground level by the end of June,” he said.

He said that the locals had also demanded the construction of flowers at these two spots multiple times before the government, adding that the construction of both flyovers will not only end the hassle of traffic jams but will also curb accidents.

The official added that more than 40 thousand vehicles pass through Manesar and Bilaspur on average every day, adding that an average of 80,000 vehicles pass through the Kherki Daula toll plaza operated on the Delhi-Jaipur highway every day.

He said that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) receives an average revenue of Rs 48 lakh per day.

“It is also estimated that only 50 per cent of the approximately 80,000 vehicles go beyond Manesar. Apart from Haryana, people from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi pass through the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway,” he said.

He said that people from six states, including Haryana, face traffic pressure every day, adding that the construction of both flyovers will reduce accidents significantly.

He further pointed out that the construction of flyovers at both places will accelerate the pace of development in the surrounding areas as well.

Meanwhile, Prakash Tiwari, Deputy Manager, NHAI, said tenders have been issued for the construction of flyovers at both places, adding that eight companies have come forward.

“One of these is to be selected. The name of the company will be made public as soon as it is selected. Before constructing the flyover, service lanes will be constructed at both places so that the traffic pressure does not increase. By the end of June, work will start at the ground level in any case,” said Tiwari.

Finally some good news for daily commuters! The Manesar crossing is a nightmare during peak hours. Hope they complete this project on time unlike other infrastructure works that get delayed for years. 🤞

Great initiative but NHAI should ensure proper quality control. We don't want another infrastructure project that develops potholes within months of completion. Safety should be top priority.

₹48 lakh per day from one toll plaza? That's shocking! While flyovers are needed, NHAI should also consider reducing toll rates if they're making such huge profits. Common people are already burdened with high fuel prices.

As someone who travels to Jaipur frequently, this is much needed. The Bilaspur intersection is particularly dangerous at night. Hope they include proper lighting and signage on these flyovers.

Good step but what about the environmental impact? They should plant 10x trees than what they'll cut for this project. Development shouldn't come at the cost of ecology. Also hope they compensate affected farmers properly.

While flyovers will help, the real solution is improving public transport. Why not invest in high-speed rail between Delhi-Jaipur? So many vehicles daily shows our over-dependence on roads. Time for multimodal solutions! 🚆
