The trailer of Edgar Wright's The Running Man has been unveiled.
The film, which stars Glen Powell and Josh Brolin, is all set to be released in India on November 7 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu by Paramount Pictures India.
Set in a near-future society obsessed with spectacle and survival, The Running Man follows Ben Richards (played by Glen Powell), a desperate father who volunteers for a brutal reality TV deathmatch in order to secure life-saving treatment for his daughter. Contestants must survive for 30 days on the run across a surveilled nation, hunted by both professional killers and civilians, for a USD 1 billion prize.

Edgar Wright always delivers unique films. The trailer looks promising but I hope they don't glorify violence too much. Our youth are already exposed to so much aggression in media. The father-daughter angle seems emotional though.
$1 billion prize? That's like ₹8000 crores! 😱 The concept is interesting but feels too unrealistic. In India, we have real survival struggles every day without any prize money. Still, will watch for the entertainment value.
As an expat living in Mumbai, I'm excited to see Hollywood embracing Indian audiences with local language dubs. The cast looks stellar - Glen Powell is underrated. Hope the Indian release isn't censored too much!
The original Running Man with Arnold was iconic. This remake better do justice to the concept. At least they've got Edgar Wright - his visual style should make the action sequences pop. Booking tickets already!
Not sure how I feel about this. The trailer looks slick but the premise is disturbing - people hunting humans for entertainment? We have enough violence in real life. Maybe I'll wait for reviews before deciding to watch.
