Maharashtra Government honours Kho Kho world cup winners, awards Rs 2.25 crore to players

Mumbai, January 30: The Maharashtra government on Thursday honoured nine state players who were part of India's victorious men's and women's teams at the inaugural Kho Kho World Cup 2025, held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi. In recognition of their achievement, each player was awarded Rs 2.25 crore, while the coaches received Rs 22.5 lakh each, said an official statement from Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI).

New Delhi, Jan 16: Reflecting on his decision to move the court over his exclusion from the list of Khel Ratna Awardees for 2024, two-time Paralympic silver medallist Yogesh Kathuniya has claimed that the National Sports Awards list was released on January 2, deliberately coinciding with the week when the courts were closed, alleging that this timing was planned to prevent him from taking any action.

Shooting fraternity overjoyed as Manu Bhaker gets Khel Ratna; Swapnil, Sarabjot get Arjuna

New Delhi, January 3: The Indian shooting fraternity was overjoyed as news came in that double Olympic medallist Manu Bhaker was conferred with the highest Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna award for athletes and Rifle shooter Swapnil Kusale and Pistol shooter Sarabjot Singh with the coveted Arjuna awards. Acclaimed rifle coach Deepali Deshpande was also conferred with the prestigious Dronacharya award for coaches.

Five railways athletes to receive Arjuna Awards for 2024

New Delhi, January 3: The Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB), has contributed immensely to promoting sports across the Country since 1928. The modest beginning of promoting Hockey, Athletics and Tennis, now RSPB has become an important organization in the promotion of Sports in the country and presently has 29 Game Disciplines- 18 individual games & 11 team games. RSPB is affiliated with 28 National Sports Federations and also affiliated with USIC (World Railways Sports Association).
