Sabarimala temple earning in two month-long festival touches Rs 440 crore

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 21: The Travancore Devasom Board (TDB), the body that manages the famed Sabarimala temple, said on Tuesday, that during the two-month-long festival season which came to a close last week, its revenue increased by Rs 80 crore to reach Rs 440 crore as compared to the previous season.

Sabarimala,, January 14: The number of devotees who reached Sannidhanam (the main temple in Sabarimala) on Tuesday to offer prayers to Lord Ayyappa at the hill shrine of Sabarimala on the occasion of Makaravilakku reached 27,949 by 9 AM, the Kerala Public Relations Department informed. The temple's reception of the procession carrying the 'Thiruvabharnam (sacred jewels of Lord Ayappa)' is the most important event in the hill shrine on the day of Makaravilakku.
