Kerala CPI-M's powerful state committee to decide on action against leader for anti-party outburst
Thiruvananthapuram, March 12: Three days after senior CPI-M leader, A. Padmakumar openly showed dissent and spoke against the way he was sidelined by the party, the Pathanamthitta district CPI-M meeting held on Wednesday decided to leave the matter to the higher state level committee.
NHRC takes suo motu cognisance of reported sexual abuse of girl by several individuals in Kerala
New Delhi, January 20: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken suo motu cognisance of the reported sexual abuse of a girl belonging to the Scheduled Caste in Pathanamthitta district of Kerala and the arrest of 44 people so far out of 59 accused in the 30 FIRs in the matter. Reportedly, two of the accused are absconding abroad and the remaining 13 others are yet to be arrested.
Kerala Police arrest 57 of 59 accused in 18-year-old's sexual assault case
Pathanamthitta, January 20: Kerala Police have arrested all but two accused in connection with the sexual assault of an 18-year-old Dalit girl in Pathanamthitta district. Since the first case was registered by the Ilavumthitta Police on January 10, the Special Investigation Team arrested 57 out of the 59 accused, except for two who are abroad, according to the police.
