New Delhi, February 3: Noting that production is the foundation of India's national security and is key to job creation, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday alleged that the Modi government's 'Make In India' initiative has failed to revive it and share of manufacturing in GDP has come down from 15.3 per cent of GDP in 2014 to 12.6 per cent, which is lowest in the past 60 years.

Computing, technological development core building block for becoming developed country by 2047: Vaishnaw

New Delhi, January 11: Computing and technological development is a core building block for India to become a developed country by 2047, said Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. One VEGA based SoC ASIC and two DIR V VEGA processor based development boards designed and developed by C-DAC were launched by the Union Minister at Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) campus in Pashan, Pune on Saturday. The two products, namely, ARIES ECO and ARIES NOVA development boards and THEJAS64 Indigenous 64-bit SoC are launched today.

DPIIT partners with Start-up Policy Forum to strengthen India's startup ecosystem

New Delhi, January 3: The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), on Friday partnered with the Startup Policy Forum (SPF), a reputed industry organisation representing India's leading new-age companies, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry stated in a release. As part of the celebrations for National Startup Week, the SPF Baithak, a meeting of founders and policymakers, will be held here at Bharat Mandapam from January 15-16, according to Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT.
