GST officers asked to reduce compliance burden while processing registrations
New Delhi, April 18: Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued instructions to the officers to reduce compliance burden while processing GST registration applications, after it received grievances that people were facing difficulties during the GST registration process, mainly on account of queries raised by officers on the grounds of seeking additional documents, an official statement issued by the Ministry of Finance said on Friday.

Punjab adds 46,338 GST taxpayers: Finance Minister Cheema
Chandigarh, Feb 18: Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday said the Excise and Taxation Department has conducted targeted GST registration drives to broaden the tax base, resulting in the addition of 46,338 taxpayers in 2023-24 and approximately 33,000 new taxpayers up to December 2024.
