Special trains from New Delhi to Prayagraj to depart from Platform 16; Passengers to use Ajmeri Gate for Entry/Exit

New Delhi, February 16: A day after the tragic incident of stampede at New Delhi railway station, Northern Railway enforced a number of measures to avoid any such untoward incident in the days to come. It has been decided that all special trains in the direction of Prayagraj will be run from platform number 16. Therefore all the passengers wanting to go to Prayagraj shall come and go from Ajmeri Gate side of New Delhi railway station. Regular trains will continue to be operated from all platforms as the regular practice is. This is a step in the direction of avoiding peak hour rush getting accumulated in one platform, as per an official statement from the Ministry of Railways.

New Delhi, February 16: The Delhi Dribblers snapped the Mumbai Titans' three-game winning streak in a nail-biting InBL Pro U25 clash at the Thyagraj Indoor Stadium, edging out an 88-84 victory. The Dribblers exploded in the first half, racking up 59 points, but the Titans stormed back in the second, setting up a dramatic finish. Lachlan Barker starred once again with 25 points, while Daniel Poelsma knocked down crucial threes to add 23. Piyush Meena also made his first appearance for the Dribblers, as per a release from InBL.

Railways names two-member panel formed to probe New Delhi stampede; high-level inquiry begins

New Delhi, February 16: A two-member committee has been formed to investigate the stampede at the New Delhi Railway Station on Februray 15, in which 18 people died and several sustained injuries . The committee comprises Narsingh Deo, Northern Railway's Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM), and Pankaj Gangwar, its Principal Chief Safety Commissioner (PCSC), the railways said on Sunday.
