Mamata avoids commenting on Governor's report on Murshidabad violence

Kolkata, May 5: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, on Monday, avoided commenting on the report sent by Governor C.V Ananda Bose to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on the communal violence and riot-like situation in the minority-dominated Murshidabad district last month, where he had reportedly suggested consideration of provision of the Constitution's Article 356, for imposing President's Rule.

Bengal: 17 socket bombs recovered in Malda dist a day after Guv's visit

Kolkata, April 19: Just a day after the visit of West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose, as many as 17 mini and handmade socket bombs have been recovered from West Bengal's Malda district adjacent to Murshidabad, which was on the boil last week after communal violence and riot-like situation broke out there after protests over the Waqf (Amendment) Act turned violent.
