Mumbai water tanker operators call off strike after BMC invokes Disaster Management Act
Mumbai, April 14: A day after the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) invoked the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Mumbai Water Tanker Association (MWTA) on Monday called off their four-day strike after a meeting with the city's civic body chief Bhushan Gagrani.

Mumbai, April 14: Considering the ongoing strike by tanker drivers in Mumbai and in the interest of the general public, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) administration invoked the Disaster Management Act, 2005, and decided to requisition wells, borewells, and private water supply tankers across the city.
Eye on polls: BMC presents massive Rs 74,427 cr budget estimates for 2025-26
Mumbai, Feb 4: Ahead of the upcoming elections, which are expected after monsoons, the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Additional Commissioner Abhijit Bangar on Tuesday presented to Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani the Budget Estimates for the fiscal year 2025-26 of Rs 74427.41 crore which exceeds the Budget Estimates of 2024-25 of Rs 65180.79 crore by 14.19 per cent. However, the BMC has not proposed hike in taxes or fees or fares in the budget.
