New cases of bird flu found in Israel

Tel Aviv, January 22: H5N1 bird flu was diagnosed in a flock of turkeys at Kibbutz Tzora in the Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. Following an unusual mortality of approximately 19,300 turkeys, aged 6.7 weeks, in four chicken coops, samples were sent to the laboratories of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, which confirmed the suspicion.

Cambodia records first death from H5N1 in 2025

Phnom Penh, Jan 10: A 28-year-old man from southeast Cambodia's Kampong Cham province died of H5N1 human avian influenza on Friday, becoming the first death in 2025, the Ministry of Health said in a press statement.

Bird flu outbreak drives up egg price to record high in US

New York, Jan 10: Egg prices have increased nationwide by around 38 per cent in the last year in the US, bringing the average cost of one dozen up to $3.65 in November versus $3.37 in October and $2.14 in November 2023, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics Consumer Price Index.
