Strictest possible action, says Home Secy Shailesh Bagoli on alleged irregularities in UKSSSC in Uttarakhand

Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli pledges the strictest action in the UKSSSC paper leak case, with multiple police teams deployed for investigation.

"The government will take the strictest possible action... This is the first case after a law on cheating was introduced. - Shailesh Bagoli"

Dehradun, September 22

Uttarakhand Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli on Monday assured that the government will take the "strictest possible action" against those involved in the alleged Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) paper irregularities case, stressing that the move will serve as a deterrent.

Speaking on the issue, Bagoli said, "The government will take the strictest possible action against those who are involved in the illegal activities in this case. This is the first case after a law on cheating was introduced. The action taken by the government will set an example."

Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) Deepam Seth said that multiple police teams have been deployed to probe the UKSSSC paper irregularities case and assured that strict action will follow against those found guilty.

"Five police teams have been deployed to investigate the case, and the police have recovered substantial evidence in this matter. The investigation will be concluded soon, and strict action will be taken against those involved," DGP Seth said.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, UKSSSC Chairman Ganesh Singh Martolia said it appeared to be "an attempt to help a particular person."

Martolia said, "This is an attempt to help a particular person. The question is, how did the person (who took the photos of the questions) reach there (at the centre) when there was a jammer? This is an important aspect that we are working on. We are trying to catch the main accused. After that, everything will become clear. Strict action will be taken against anyone involved in this."

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Singh clarified on Sunday that no organised gang has been found so far.

"There were rumours that a paper had been leaked and that an organised gang was behind it. The investigation we have done so far has not revealed any organised gang that could prove this. At one centre, someone had sent screenshots of some questions. We have detained 2-3 people and interrogated them. Someone had done this in a planned manner," SSP Singh told reporters.

The chairman's question is valid - how did someone manage to take photos when there was a jammer? This suggests insider involvement. The investigation must go deep into the system.

While I appreciate the government's strong stance, I hope this isn't just political rhetoric. We've seen similar promises before that led to minimal action. The proof will be in the actual convictions.

As someone who prepared for UKSSSC exams, this is really disheartening. The government should also think about re-conducting the exam for fairness. Thousands of honest students shouldn't suffer because of a few corrupt people.

Good to see multiple agencies involved. Five police teams shows seriousness. Hope they catch the main accused soon and expose the entire network. This will restore faith in our examination system.

The SSP's clarification about no organized gang found is interesting. Maybe this was a smaller operation than initially thought. Still, any corruption in recruitment must be dealt with strictly. Bhagwan kare sab theek ho jaye!
