Rahul Gandhi has crossed all limits of shamelessness: BJP's Ravi Shankar Prasad slams LS LoP over vote theft claim

BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad accuses Rahul Gandhi of "shamelessness" for alleging election fraud, sparking a heated political debate.

"Rahul Gandhi has crossed all limits of shamelessness...PM Modi has been winning elections since 2014, and he claims that the results were fraudulent. – Ravi Shankar Prasad"

New Delhi, August 7

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ravi Shankar Prasad on Thursday said that the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has crossed all limits of "shamelessness" as he continues to target the Election Commission of India over the "vote theft" claim.

Speaking to reporters, the BJP MP said, "Rahul Gandhi is the leader of the opposition and he is giving these kinds of irresponsible statements. He is making embarrassing comments against a constitutional body. We condemn it. This is Rahul Gandhi's anger as the public of the nation does not vote for him."

"Rahul Gandhi has crossed all limits of shamelessness...PM Modi has been winning elections since 2014, and he claims that the results were fraudulent. What do you mean by it? You are disrespecting the public of the nation," he added.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday slammed the Election Commission of India (ECI) and alleged that the elections are "choreographed".

The Congress leader further alleged that the poll body is "destroying evidence" through the directive on only preserving CCTV and webcasting footage of the election process for only 45 days after the whole process is completed, unless the election result is challenged in court.

"The Election Commission is looking to destroy the evidence across the country. It is the 21st century, you can keep as much data as you want in a hard drive, even 10 years old data, but the Election Commission wants to destroy the CCTV footage in 45 days, without giving the voter list. They are colluding with the BJP to destroy the election system in India," Gandhi alleged.

Rahul Gandhi said that the Election Commission is helping the BJP destroy the electoral system in India.

The 45-day rule for preserving CCTV footage does seem suspicious though. In digital age, why can't we keep records longer? Even my local kirana store keeps CCTV for 6 months! EC should be more transparent to maintain public trust.

Both sides need to tone down the rhetoric. BJP shouldn't use words like "shamelessness" and Congress shouldn't undermine institutions without solid proof. This political slugfest helps nobody except the politicians themselves.

As a young voter, I'm tired of this blame game. Instead of questioning EVMs, why doesn't Congress work on better policies and connect with youth? BJP won because they understood what people want - development and strong leadership.

The language used by Ravi Shankar Prasad is unbecoming of a senior leader. However, Rahul Gandhi's continuous attacks on constitutional bodies without substantial evidence is equally concerning. Democracy needs responsible opposition, not just opposition for the sake of it.

Remember when Congress used to win elections? Nobody called EVMs faulty then! Now that they're losing consistently, suddenly everything is rigged. Maybe they should accept that people want change and work harder instead of crying foul. 🤷‍♀️
