"The public gave us a landslide victory for all the welfare work done - Eknath Shinde"

Mumbai, July 2

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde exuded confidence in the win of Mahayuti in any upcoming elections in Maharashtra and stated that the public had given a landslide victory to the party for all the public welfare done.

"The work done by the Mahayuti Government in the last 3 years, the foundation of development that has been laid, the public welfare works that have been done - the public gave us a landslide victory for that. I would like to confidently say that based on development for Maharashtra brought about by Mahayuti, we will win all upcoming elections," Shinde said, speaking to the reporters here.

Earlier, newly elected Maharashtra BJP Chief Ravindra Chavan asserted that the party's double-engine government was committed to making decisions in the best interests of the people.

Ravindra Chavan formally assumed charge as the new state president on Tuesday.

"The double-engine government of the BJP is taking decisions in the best interests of the people," he told media persons on Tuesday after being elected as the party president.

Reflecting on his journey in the party, he added, "BJP is the party of the workers... Today, a normal worker of the party has been elected the Maharashtra president of the Bharatiya Janata Party."

Maharashtra Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said the party under the leadership of Ravindra Chavan will win all the upcoming elections in the state.

"BJP leader Ravindra Chavan elected as Maharashtra president of the Bharatiya Janata Party...The BJP, under the leadership of Ravindra Chavan, will win all the upcoming elections in Maharashtra," Bawankule said, noting that the party's state unit is committed to fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resolve of Viksit Bharat.

This development comes as the BJP continues to hold internal elections across various state units to restructure its organisational framework ahead of the election of the national president.

While development is visible in cities, what about rural Maharashtra? Farmers are still struggling with water scarcity and crop prices. The government needs balanced development across all regions.

Elections come and go, but what matters is governance. The current government has done well in industrial growth, but I wish they'd focus more on women's safety and education too.

As a Mumbaikar, I've seen real change - better roads, cleaner beaches, and improved public transport. But politicians should talk less and work more. Actions speak louder than words!

The confidence is good but overconfidence can be dangerous. Opposition is weak now but politics can change quickly. Government should stay grounded and keep delivering for common people.
