We pledged to protect our future generations from injustice: CM Dhami at appointment letters distribution ceremony

Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami pledges fair recruitment, cracks down on corruption, and distributes job letters to 187 candidates.

"We have pledged to protect our future generations from injustice, valuing their talent, courage, and commitment. – CM Pushkar Singh Dhami"

Dehradun, August 3

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday assured youth of the state that his government has pledged to protect future generations from injustice. He made the remarks as he distributed appointment letters to the candidates selected for various posts in the Irrigation department and the state's transport corporation.

Addressing a distribution ceremony held at the CM's residence in Dehradun, Dhami said, "You must remember how there was massive corruption in recruitment processes in our country... Forms were leaked, and corruption was prevalent in every aspect... We have pledged to protect our future generations from injustice, valuing their talent, courage, and commitment."

"No matter how many challenges we face, we fight them, dismantle counterfeit mafias, break their networks, and arrest over a hundred of them," he added.

He said that when the government took stringent actions against the "counterfeit mafias", the youth were "misled and incited" to protest and vandalise on the streets. However, he added that it did not stop the government from implementing the "toughest" anti-cheating law in the country.

"When we did this, the youth were misled and incited to protest and vandalise on the streets... However, we did not delay in making a decision and decided to implement the toughest anti-cheating law in India," he said.

Dhami congratulated and wished 43 eligible candidates for the post of conductor under the deceased dependent quota in the Transport Corporation.

He also handed over the appointment letters to the 129 newly selected draftsmen and 15 newly selected tubewell mechanics under the Irrigation Department.

On Saturday, the Uttarakhand Chief Minister approved the increase in the existing rate of dearness allowance admissible to those employees of the State Government and State Autonomous Bodies/Undertakings, who are drawing their salaries and allowances in the pay band/grade pay applicable as per the recommendations of the Fifth and Sixth Central Pay Commission, from January 01, 2025, the Chief Minister's office said in a press release.

The increase would be done from 455 per cent to 466 per cent for the fifth pay scale and from 246 per cent to 252 per cent per month for the sixth pay scale.

Actions speak louder than words. While the intentions seem good, we've heard such promises before. Will wait to see if the system actually becomes transparent. The DA increase is a welcome move though!

Strong leadership is needed to break the nexus of corruption. But arresting 100+ people? Hope there's proper evidence and not just political drama. Uttarakhand can become a model state if this works!

As someone who lost a government job due to paper leaks, this gives me hope. But what about compensating victims of previous scams? The deceased dependent quota is a noble initiative 👏

The DA increase percentages look impressive on paper, but with current inflation rates, will it really make a difference? Need to see the actual salary slips to believe the impact.

Good steps but implementation is key! My brother waited 3 years for his appointment letter after selection. Hope these candidates don't face similar delays. The transport corporation jobs are much needed in hill areas.
