This sounds absolutely epic! Frears is a master storyteller and Dalrymple's book is so rich in detail. Can't wait to see how they bring this colonial era drama to life. The UK-Asia shooting locations will add so much authenticity. 🤩

As someone who loved the book, I'm cautiously optimistic. The East India Company's history is so complex - hope they don't oversimplify it for TV. But with Frears directing, it should have nuance.

The Queen and High Fidelity were brilliant - Frears knows how to handle both historical drama and character-driven stories. Perfect choice for this adaptation!

Excited for this but hope they cast Indian actors in Indian roles. Too often these international co-productions whitewash our history. The scale sounds impressive though!

Respectful criticism: While I admire Frears' work, I'm concerned about Western directors telling Eastern stories. Hope they have strong Indian voices in the writers' room too.

The book was a masterpiece! If they can capture even half of Dalrymple's vivid storytelling, this will be must-watch TV. Fingers crossed they do justice to this important chapter of history.
