Opposition Only wants to create misconception : Chirag Paswan dismisses NDA's rift claims

Chirag Paswan dismissed opposition claims of cracks within the NDA, calling it a political ploy. He referenced the 2020 Bihar elections, where RJD only won seats he contested independently. Paswan praised Nitish Kumar’s governance for controlling crime in Bihar. The NDA alliance is targeting 225 seats in the upcoming state elections.

Hajipur, August 10

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President and Union Minister Chirag Paswan on Sunday dismissed the opposition's claim of cracks within the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), calling it a "misconception" that they create to gain some political mileage out of it.

"The opposition only wants to create the misconception that there are cracks in the NDA alliance so that they can gain some political mileage out of it," Paswan said while speaking to mediapersons in Hajipur.

The Lok Janshakti Party leader recalled that during the 2020 Bihar elections, the RJD only won seats where he contested independently.

"If during 2020, the NDA had remained united like it is today, they (RJD) only won those seats where I decided to contest independently. Now we can see that the crime situation in the state is getting controlled. This is possible only under the leadership of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar," he said, adding that the NDA was targeting 225 seats in the upcoming elections.

In July, Chirag Paswan had said that he felt sorry to be supporting the government in Bihar, "which is failing on the law and order front like this." His statement came in the wake of the gang-rape of a Bihar Military Police aspirant in Bodh Gaya on July 24, and the recent spate of violent crime in Bihar.

Earlier on August 5, the LJP leader accused the Opposition parties of attempting to project a rift in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) by "amplifying" his previous remarks on the law and order situation in the state.

"I try to put forward the points of the people before the government through this alliance. I am a part of the government and I have got that platform to put forth my views... Since I am not a part of the government in Bihar, I am supporting the government, so when I come across instances that add to the problems of Biharis, such as the law and order issue, I try to strongly keep it before the government so that actions are taken," Chirag Paswan told ANI.

He alleged that the Opposition is deliberately misinterpreting his statements to create confusion among the public.

"The opposition tries to mislead people about my words, indicating I am repeating my mistakes... NDA alliance is a winning combination in Bihar... We will win more than 225 seats and form the government. Hum Sath Sath Hain. The opposition tries its best to show a rift between us by amplifying my words. I trust Nitish Kumar and his governance," he said.

But what about his earlier statements criticizing law & order? Politicians keep changing their stance like chameleons. Public wants action, not just words. Bihar deserves better governance.

As a Bihari, I've seen improvement in infrastructure but crime is still worrying. Paswan sahab should focus more on ground realities than political statements. Development should be priority #1.

Interesting to see Indian coalition politics at work. The balancing act between alliance partners and criticism is quite different from Western democracies. Hope Bihar gets stable governance.

225 seats target seems ambitious! But if NDA can deliver on jobs and women's safety, they might achieve it. Youth like me want concrete results, not just political rhetoric.

Why do politicians always blame opposition instead of addressing concerns? That Bodh Gaya case was horrific! We need accountability, not political blame games 😡
