"Saiyaara is my homage to the love stories I love. - Mohit Suri"

Mumbai, May 31

Director Mohit Suri, who is awaiting the release of his upcoming film ‘Saiyaara’, has called it an homage to the love stories that he has grown up loving.

Mohit is known for his musical hits like ‘Zeher’, ‘Kalyug’, ‘Woh Lamhe’, the cult-classic ‘Awarapan’ and the blockbuster ‘Aashiqui 2’.

While all the aforementioned films were made under the banner of Vishesh Films, with ‘Saiyaara’, Mohit has moved into the territory of Yash Raj Films.

‘Saiyaara’ brings together YRF and Mohit, both known for creating timeless romances for an intense love story, and introduces Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda (of ‘Big Girls Don't Cry’ fame) as the next YRF heroine.

Talking about the film, Mohit said, “I feel you can tell so many beautiful stories and take people along so many journeys and celebrate so many emotions but romantic genre is always special. ‘Saiyaara’ is my homage to the love stories I love and the sweeping romances that I have come across through my life. I have been fortunate to have met so many people who have been kind enough to share their incredible love stories with me”.

He further mentioned, “I’m delighted to see this unanimous response to the teaser of ‘Saiyaara’. I’m thrilled for Ahaan and Aneet. They deserve all the love because they have really put in everything for people to connect so deeply with the teaser of ‘Saiyaara’. I share this moment with my incredible team and everyone at YRF. I hope people keep engaging and connecting with ‘Saiyaara’ as we peel every layer of emotion, every season of love through our marketing campaign”.

Sharing his views, Yash Raj CEO Akshaye Widhani said, "Saiyaara is also special because Yash Raj Films is introducing two really talented newcomers Ahaan Panday & Aneet Padda as the next YRF hero and heroine and we wanted to launch them with a love story for the ages. We hope people love Saiyaara when it releases in theatres worldwide on July 18th.”

Produced by YRF, ‘Saiyaara’ is set to release in cinemas on July 18, 2025.

Mohit Suri's films always have such soulful music and intense emotions. Aashiqui 2 still gives me goosebumps! Excited to see what he brings to YRF. Hope this lives up to the legacy of classic Yash Raj romances. 🤞

Not sure about these new actors... YRF should focus more on good scripts than just launching star kids. But Mohit Suri's direction might save it. His films always have that emotional depth missing in today's rom-coms.

Finally some proper romance after so many action films! Mohit Suri + YRF sounds like a dream combo. Just hope they don't make it too modern and lose the classic Bollywood romance feel. We need more films like DDLJ, not superficial love stories.

Ahaan Panday is so charming in the teaser! 😍 And Aneet looks refreshingly different from typical Bollywood heroines. Mohit Suri knows how to bring out the best in his actors. Counting days till July 18th!

Mohit Suri moving from Vishesh Films to YRF is a big shift. His earlier films had that raw, intense quality. Hope YRF doesn't make it too polished and commercial. The music better be good - that's half the battle won for a romantic film!

As someone who grew up watching Mohit's films, I'm excited but also nervous. His films defined my college days! Please don't disappoint us with this one. And please bring back that old-school romance with good songs - none of this English remix nonsense!
