Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal criticized Congress workers for allegedly vandalizing ED offices during protests. The ED recently filed a chargesheet against Sonia and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald money laundering case. Congress has launched nationwide demonstrations, calling the chargesheet a BJP-led political attack. The party plans press conferences across 57 cities to counter the allegations.

"This is a long-pending issue. ED is doing its work, we have not made ED, during Congress' time, it was made. Now, Congress's people are going into ED offices, and things such as signboards or government property are being damaged. Congress workers, in the name of protest, are vandalising public property. If they want to say something, they should do so on the right platform," Meghwal said during the press conference in Udaipur.

His remarks come amidst the Congress party announcing nationwide press conferences to counter the ED chargesheet against their party's leaders.

The Union Minister, while calling the protests a "pressure tactic," said that one should go to court if they do not agree with the process being followed.

"The investigation by ED or CBI, there is a platform for it, and they can go to court. What is this pressure technique that we are even bigger than the law? Does law not apply to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi?" he said.

On April 15, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a prosecution complaint (chargesheet) against top Congress members Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi in connection with the money laundering case involving the National Herald.

Since then, Congress has launched nationwide protests against the Directorate, with top party officials accusing the Bharatiya Janta Party of misusing the agency.

The party will hold a series of press conferences across 57 cities from April 21 to 27 in protest against the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) chargesheet.

The campaign, titled "Congress Truths, BJP Lies" is aimed at countering what the party alleges is a politically motivated move by the BJP government. Pawan Khera, Chairman, Media & Publicity Department, AICC, called the ED's chargesheet "an anti-national effort" by the BJP to erase the legacy of The National Herald, which he described as a living monument of India's freedom struggle.

Protesting is one thing, but damaging public property crosses the line. Congress should set a better example if they want public support. There are peaceful ways to express disagreement.

The timing of these ED cases is always suspicious 🤔 Every time elections are near, opposition leaders suddenly have cases against them. Coincidence? I think not!

While I don't support vandalism, the minister's comment about "does law not apply" seems hypocritical. There are many BJP leaders with pending cases who continue in office. The law should be equal for all.

National Herald is such an important part of our history! If there are genuine concerns about its management, they should be addressed properly, not used as political ammunition. 🇮🇳

The "Congress Truths, BJP Lies" campaign name is so childish. Both parties need to grow up and focus on real issues affecting citizens instead of this constant mudslinging.

I attended one of these protests in Delhi. Most people were peaceful - it's unfair to judge the entire party based on actions of a few. The media only shows the dramatic moments!
