Kavitha seeks divine blessings at Tirumala ahead of 4-month-long padayatra

Former BRS leader K Kavitha begins 4-month padayatra across Telangana after temple visit, focusing on social justice and political future without KCR's support.

"I came here to seek blessings for that program - K Kavitha"

Tirupati, Oct 19

Ahead of her Telangana Jagruthi Padayatra, former BRS MLC K. Kavitha on Sunday offered prayers at Tirumala temple here.

Accompanied by her husband, D. Anil Kumar, she sought divine blessings for her statewide outreach starting on October 25.

Aimed at connecting with people and strengthening the Telangana Jagruthi movement, the four-month-long padayatra will cover all 33 districts of Telangana.

Kavitha told the media after the 'darshan' that it was a great pleasure to visit Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy of Tirumala. “I have resolved to undertake the Telangana Jagruti Janam Bata programme from the 25th of this month. I came here to seek blessings for that program,” she said.

Kavitha said she took the blessing for her four-month-long programme to interact with people.

She said that she also prayed to God for the well-being and prosperity of the people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states.

The padayatra will be the first major public outreach programme by Kavitha after her resignation from Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) following her suspension for anti-party activities last month.

Kavitha, daughter of BRS president and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), continues to hold consultations with Telangana Jagruthi leaders and others to finalise her political strategy.

While launching the poster for her padayatra, the Telangana Jagruthi founder said the tour will help her understand if there is room for a political party and whether Telangana Jagruthi will fit.

Kavitha had said that achieving “Samajika Telangana (social justice in Telangana)" is not just a slogan but her policy. The padayatra is also expected to highlight regional issues, women’s empowerment, and grassroots governance.

Kavitha has not used photos of KCR on the poster for her programme. She explained that BRS suspended her, and it would be morally wrong to use another party president’s photo. She alleged that her suspension from BRS was linked to her remarks on Samajika Telangana.

Kavitha had said in May that though a separate geographical Telangana state was achieved, Samajika Telangana was not delivered to the people.

She will be launching her padayatra from Nizamabad on October 25. She chose Nizamabad as her in-laws hail from the district, and she had represented Nizamabad in the Lok Sabha from 2014-19.

Another political drama unfolding. First they get suspended, then temple visits for publicity. When will politicians focus on actual development instead of these symbolic gestures? The common man needs jobs, not padayatras.

Interesting to see her praying for both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. That's a mature political move. The 4-month padayatra covering 33 districts is ambitious - hope she genuinely listens to people's concerns rather than just making speeches.

Starting from Nizamabad makes sense given her connection there. But I'm curious - what exactly is "Samajika Telangana" and how is it different from what BRS promised? Need more clarity on her actual agenda beyond slogans.

As a woman from Hyderabad, I appreciate seeing a female leader taking such initiative. The temple visit shows she values our traditions. Hope her padayatra brings real change for women in rural areas. All the best to her! 💪

The fact that she's not using KCR's photo shows she wants to establish her own identity. Smart move politically. But let's see if she can deliver on "social justice" - that's what really matters to people like us.
