Jr NTR Thanks Delhi High Court for Landmark Personality Rights Protection Order

Telugu superstar Jr NTR has publicly thanked the Delhi High Court for issuing a protective order to safeguard his personality rights in the digital realm. The order prevents the unauthorized commercial use of his name, image, voice, and other recognizable attributes across all media formats. This legal victory follows a similar interim injunction granted earlier this year to veteran actor Chiranjeevi by a Hyderabad court. Jr NTR also expressed gratitude to his legal team for their dedicated support in securing this crucial protection for his identity.

Hyderabad, December 29

Jr NTR on Monday thanked the Delhi High Court for "granting a protective order" that safeguarded his personality rights in the digital age.

On Monday, Jr NTR took to X and expressed his gratitude to the Delhi High Court and his lawyers.

"I thank the Hon'ble Delhi High Court for granting a protective order that safeguards my personality rights in today's digital age. My sincere appreciation to Supreme Court Advocates Dr. Balajanaki Srinivasan and Dr. Alka Dakar, along with Mr. Rajender and team of Rights & Marks, for their dedicated legal support. Deeply thankful for your steadfast support. #Justice #PersonalityRights #DigitalAge," he posted.

Earlier this year, a City Civil Court at Hyderabad granted an ad-interim injunction in favour of veteran actor Chiranjeevi Konidela to protect the actor's personality and publicity rights, including the unauthorised commercial use of his name, image, voice, and other recognisable attributes across all formats and media.

The Court of the Chief Judge, City Civil Court, Hyderabad, through Order dated 26th September 2025, has granted an ad-interim injunction in favour of renowned film actor Chiranjeevi.

Good move. I've seen so many fake ads on YouTube using his face to sell betting apps and health products. The courts are finally catching up with technology. Chiranjeevi's case also set a good precedent.

While I understand the need for protection, I hope this doesn't stifle fan-made content, memes, or tributes. There's a fine line between commercial misuse and public admiration. The law should be careful.

Interesting to see Indian courts taking proactive steps on digital rights. This is a global issue. The mention of his legal team shows he's taking it seriously. #PersonalityRights is trending for a reason.

As a fan, I'm happy for him. But what about common people? If a big star's face can be protected, what about us when our photos are used without consent? The law needs to work for everyone, not just celebrities.

Telugu cinema leading the way! First Megastar Chiranjeevi, now Young Tiger NTR. Proud of our heroes for using their influence to set legal benchmarks. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳
