Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar: Supriya Sule congratulates NDA on landslide Bihar victory

NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule acknowledges NDA's emphatic Bihar victory with "Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar" quote, promises opposition analysis after sweeping defeat.

"Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. I congratulate Nitish Kumar on their landslide victory. We will do an analysis of our defeat - Supriya Sule"

Mumbai, November 15

NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule congratulated the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on its emphatic victory in the Bihar Assembly elections, asserting that the opposition alliance will analyse their defeat.

"'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar'. I congratulate Nitish Kumar on their landslide victory. We will do an analysis of our defeat," Sule told reporters on Friday, acknowledging the clear mandate given to the ruling alliance.

The NDA registered a sweeping victory, with what many leaders described as a "tsunami" that overwhelmed the opposition Mahagathbandhan. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the single-largest party, securing 89 seats, followed closely by its alliance partner, Janata Dal (United), which secured 85 seats. Other allies of the ruling coalition also posted impressive strike rates, strengthening the NDA's position in the state.

The parties of the Mahagathbandhan, including the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress, suffered significant setbacks, and Jan Suraaj, which had hoped for an impressive debut after its founder, Prashant Kishor, conducted an extensive campaign, failed to open its account.

The ruling NDA got 202 seats, a three-fourths majority in the 243-member House. This is the second time the NDA has crossed the 200-mark in the assembly polls. In the 2010 polls, it had won 206 seats.

In the NDA, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won 89 seats, Janata Dal (United) won 85, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJPRV) won 19, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) (HAMS) won five, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha won four seats.

In Mahagathbandhan, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won 25 seats, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) - CPI(ML)(L) - two, Indian Inclusive Party (IIP) - one and Communist Party of India (Marxist) - CPI(M) one seat. All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won five seats, and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) got one seat.

The Bihar assembly elections were conducted across two phases on November 6 and 11, respectively. Bihar recorded a historic 67.13% voter turnout, the highest since 1951, with women voters outpacing men (71.6% vs 62.8%).

While I respect the mandate, I'm concerned about such overwhelming majorities. Healthy opposition is crucial for democracy. Hope the NDA uses this power responsibly and addresses real issues like unemployment and inflation.

The numbers speak for themselves - 202 seats out of 243! This is a clear endorsement of NDA's development agenda. Bihar has chosen stability and progress over caste-based politics. Well done!

Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj failing to open account is surprising. Shows that ground reality is different from social media hype. Political strategists need to understand that elections are won on real work, not just campaigns.

BJP emerging as single largest party with 89 seats is significant. The alliance dynamics might shift in coming years. For now, congratulations to all winners and hope they deliver on their promises to Bihar's people.
