It's heartening to see the CM and even the PM acknowledging his contribution. We need to celebrate our literary heroes more when they are alive. Hope the upcoming Lit Fest in Chhattisgarh dedicates a major segment to his legacy.
While the condolences are appreciated, I wish our governments would provide better, more consistent healthcare and financial support to such national treasures *before* it's too late. Many artists struggle in old age.
Reading this from abroad. Vinod Kumar Shukla's work has a beautiful, universal quality that transcends language. His passing is a loss for world literature. May his words continue to inspire generations.
"नाव बनाओ नाव बनाओ" - that poem is etched in my memory. He had a magical way of seeing the ordinary. A proud son of Chhattisgarh indeed. Om Shanti.
89 is a good age, but it still feels too soon. His work will keep him alive forever. Hope schools across India introduce more children to his beautiful writing.
