The White Paper presents a comprehensive analysis of India's rapidly expanding live entertainment industry, highlighting emerging trends, growth trajectories, and strategic recommendations for the sector's continued evolution.

India's live events landscape is undergoing a transformation--from a fragmented sector to a structured and influential pillar of the country's cultural and creative economy.

The period from 2024 to 2025 marks a defining inflection point, with international acts such as 'Coldplay' performing in Ahmedabad and Mumbai, signalling India's readiness to host global-scale events.

Key trends in the sector include the rise of event tourism, with nearly half a million attendees traveling specifically for live music events--indicating the emergence of a robust music-tourism economy.

Premium ticketing segments--such as VIP experiences, curated access, and luxury hospitality--have witnessed over 100 per cent year-on-year growth, pointing to an increasingly experience-driven audience. Participation from Tier-2 cities has surged, driven by multi-city tours and the growing popularity of regional festivals.

In 2024, the organized live events segment recorded 15 per cent growth, contributing an additional Rs 13 billion in revenue--establishing it as one of the fastest-growing verticals within India's media and entertainment ecosystem.

Large-scale events in the current landscape typically generate approximately 2,000 to 5,000 temporary jobs each, underscoring the sector's growing contribution to employment and skill development.

This is fantastic news! Our entertainment industry has come a long way from just Bollywood. With international acts coming and regional content booming, we're truly becoming a global hub. Hope this creates more jobs for technicians and local artists too. 🇮🇳

While this sounds exciting, I hope the growth is inclusive. Tier 2/3 cities still lack basic infrastructure for big events. Also, ticket prices for Coldplay were too high for average Indians. Growth should benefit all, not just elites.

Our soft power is growing! From K-pop fans to international music festivals, Indian youth are embracing global culture while taking our own content worldwide. Just visited NH7 Weekender in Pune - the energy was electric! âš¡

The job creation aspect is most promising. My cousin got work as an event manager after the Coldplay concert. But government must ensure proper regulations - we've seen too many stampedes at crowded events. Safety first!

Hope this doesn't mean only Western acts will dominate. Our classical music, folk festivals and regional cinema events deserve equal spotlight. Balance is key - we must promote Indian culture alongside global entertainment.

As someone from Indore, I'm thrilled about multi-city tours! For years we had to travel to Mumbai/Delhi for good concerts. Now big names are coming to our city too. More power to regional entertainment hubs! 🙌
