India will develop when every Indian resolves for progress, UP CM Adityanath

UP CM stresses collective resolve for national development, highlights state's economic transformation from BIMARU status to growth engine with 2 crore jobs created.

"India will develop only when every Indian has the resolve for development in his heart - Yogi Adityanath"

Lucknow, September 29

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, addressing an event on Monday, stressed the importance of collective resolve and national unity for India's development.

"India will develop only when every Indian has the resolve for development in his heart... We have respect for all the great men, Gods, Goddesses and freedom fighters of India... Prime Minister Modi had said that we have to abandon the mentality of slavery... The feeling of unity should be in the heart of every Indian," he said.

The Chief Minister conveyed this message during his engagement with participants from the states of Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha as part of the 17th Tribal Youth Exchange Programme.

The week-long programme, which began on September 25 and will conclude on October 1, has brought together young representatives from across the country.

Earlier today, the Chief Minister, during a virtual dialogue with all mayors on 'Developed UP-2047', stated that UP has become one of India's growth engines and can no longer be referred to as a 'BIMARU' state.

BIMARU was an acronym earlier used for Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, refering to their economic backwardness

The chief minister stated that prior to 2017, investors had avoided the state due to poor roads and a lack of security; however, today, the state boasts a network of highways and strong connectivity to every district, thereby attracting significant investments.

During the 'Developed UP-2047', Chief Minister Yogi said, "...You have heard from all mayors how they have raised earnings of their respective municipal corporations. There are possibilities beyond this... Eight years ago, UP's GDP was Rs 12 lakh 75,000 crore, and we plan to take it to Rs 36 lakh crore by the end of this financial year... No one used to come to invest in UP before 2017 because there were no good roads, and the state lacked a secure atmosphere. Today, we have a network of highways, good connectivity with other states and ensure two or four-lane highway connectivity to every district headquarters."

The Chief Minister said over two crore jobs have been created under the One District One Product program, and 8.5 lakh government jobs have been provided so far in the state.

While the sentiment is good, I wish there was more focus on inclusive development. Many tribal communities still lack basic facilities. The GDP growth numbers are impressive, but are we ensuring this prosperity reaches the grassroots level? 🤔

As someone who visited UP recently, I can confirm the infrastructure development is impressive. The roads are much better than before. However, I hope this progress includes environmental sustainability and doesn't compromise our natural resources.

The Tribal Youth Exchange Programme is a great initiative! Bringing youth from different states together fosters national unity. This is exactly what we need - breaking regional barriers and working together for a developed India.

Creating 2 crore jobs through ODOP is a significant achievement. This shows how local industries can drive employment. Hope other states learn from UP's model of leveraging traditional skills and products for economic growth.
