While relief work is important, why do we always wait for disasters to happen? Need permanent solutions - better drainage, early warning systems and controlled construction in vulnerable areas. Jai Hind!

My cousin's family is in Mandi and they lost everything. But seeing how locals and administration are working together gives hope. Request everyone to donate through official channels only - many scams happen during such times.

Respectfully disagree with some comments here - this isn't just about preparedness. Climate change is making cloudbursts more frequent. Need national policy on Himalayan ecology before more disasters strike.

The retired SBI manager leading relief efforts shows how our elders guide society in tough times. Salute to all volunteers! Meanwhile, tourists should avoid visiting affected areas right now - let administration focus on rehabilitation.
