"Great news for Maharashtra, especially the Vidarbha region. An active airport in Amravati will boost commerce and connectivity," PM Modi said in a post on X, responding to a a post by Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu.

Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated the Amravati Airport on Wednesday in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Ddeputy CMs Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. Naidu said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Amravati airport funded by the RCS-VGF took its first flight between Amravati and Mumbai.

"Today marks a historic milestone for Vidarbha! Honoured to inaugurate Amravati Airport alongside Hon'ble CM Devendra Fadnavis ji, Deputy CMs Eknath Shind ji & Ajit Pawar ji. Under PM Narendra Modi ji's visionary leadership, this RCS-VGF funded airport takes flight with Alliance Air's inaugural RCS Amravati-Mumbai flight. Also witnessed a demo flight at what will soon be South Asia's largest Air India Flying Training Organisation (FTO) a big leap for India's overall aviation ecosystem", Ram Mohan Naidu said in a post on X.

The Union Government has also taken several steps towards providing budget-friendly food at the airports of India. Last month, Union Minister for Civil Aviation Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated the UDAN Yatri Cafe at Chennai Airport.

The first UDAN Yatri Cafe was inaugurated in December last year at Kolkata Airport.Following immense passenger demand, the initiative is now being expanded nationwide, and soon, the Udan Yatri Cafe facility will be started at Delhi Airport.

DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said on Wednesday during a media interaction that they are in the process of starting the Udaan Yatri Cafe at Delhi airport to benefit passengers.
