Ghaziabad, June 26

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday said that Ghaziabad, once associated with crime and gang wars, has now emerged as a model of urban order, cleanliness and development.

Speaking to reporters, CM Yogi said, "Ghaziabad today shines as the new Ghaziabad. Where once gang wars and crime films were made in its name, now it is a model of cleanliness and well-organized city. It can be among the top 50 clean cities in the world..."

Today Ghaziabad also has Rapid Rail, 12-lane highway, metro, airport. No one could have imagined that it will be connected by a 12-lane Greenfield Expressway and it will be the first city in the country to have rapid rail... Where there used to be mountains of garbage, now there are city forests..." he added.

As someone who grew up in Ghaziabad, the transformation is unbelievable! The expressway has cut my Delhi commute by half. But I hope they maintain these standards - last month I saw garbage piling up again near Raj Nagar. Development should be sustainable.

Rapid Rail is a game-changer for working women like me! 🚄 But what about last mile connectivity? Auto-walas still charge whatever they want near stations. Need proper feeder buses too. Otherwise great progress!

Cleanliness is good but what about jobs? All these infrastructure projects are nice but we need more industries and IT parks. Youth are still migrating to Noida/Gurgaon for work. Development should mean local employment too.

The Hindon River project gives me hope! 🌱 For years it was just a dirty drain. If they can actually clean it up and make it like Sabarmati Riverfront, it'll change Ghaziabad's image completely. Fingers crossed!

Good steps but too much focus on showpiece projects. What about basic amenities in old areas like Loni Road? Still facing water shortages and bad roads. Development should reach all corners, not just prime locations.

The 'Pahal' portal is a great initiative! 👍 Finally some transparency in GDA approvals. Had to pay so many bribes for my house plan approval last year. Hope this digital system reduces corruption at ground level.
