Union Minister Piyush Goyal seeks blessings at Mumbai's iconic Lalbaugcha Raja pandal, calling himself fortunate for the darshan during Ganeshotsav celebrations.

"Today I am very pleased. I consider myself very fortunate to have the darshan at the Lalbaugcha Raja. - Piyush Goyal"

Mumbai, September 1

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said on Monday that he considers himself very fortunate to have the darshan at the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja pandal in Mumbai. He visited the pandal today morning during the 10-day festival honouring Lord Ganesha.

Speaking to the reporters, Union Minister Goyal said, "Today I am very pleased. I consider myself very fortunate to have the darshan at the Lalbaugcha Raja. The Ganpati here has its own zeal and faith. Every year, I receive the blessings of Ganpati Bappa here so that I can serve the country even better...Vighnaharta will remove all our obstacles."

Goyal further said that he prayed to Lord Ganesh to continue showering his blessings on the country and the entire world, and to always bless devotees like them.

Earlier today, Union Minister Piyush Goyal offered prayers and sought blessings from Lord Ganesha by touching the feet of the idol at the Labaugcha Raja pandal.

On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accompanied by his son and ICC Chairman Jay Shah, along with other family members, visited the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja to seek blessings. The Home Minister had 'darshan' of Lord Ganesh at the pandal and offered prayers, joining thousands of devotees who throng the site during the festive season.

Meanwhile, along with the grand public Ganeshotsav celebrations, household festivities in Maharashtra's Pune are also being marked with unique themes and patriotic fervour.

In the Erandwane area of Pune City, a young woman, Aishwarya Jadhav, has designed a special household Ganesh decoration inspired by the Indian Army's recently conducted 'Operation Sindoor', which was executed with remarkable bravery.

The decoration features replicas of Colonel Sophia Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, offering a symbolic salute to the armed forces. The tricolour, battle tanks, and rockets in flight also form part of the thematic setup.

The 10-day Ganeshotsav celebrations began on August 27, Ganesh Chaturthi, also known as Vinayak Chaturthi or Vinayak Chavithi. It is a festival that marks the worship of Lord Ganesha as the god of new beginnings and remover of obstacles. The festival culminates on Anantha Chaturdashi and is celebrated with decorated homes and pandals, prayers, music, and vibrant processions.

While it's good to see leaders participating in festivals, I hope they also focus on improving the infrastructure around these crowded pandals. The traffic and sanitation issues during Ganeshotsav need serious attention.

The tradition of seeking blessings before serving the nation is so beautiful. Our leaders should maintain this connection with cultural roots while governing. 🙌
