The case has been registered at Jalandhar's Sadar Police station. It has been filed under Section 299 of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita) for hurting religious sentiments. It has been registered based on the statement of Vikalp Gold, a resident of the village Pholriwal in Jalandhar.

A day earlier, members of the Christian community had staged a protest outside the Police Commissioner's office, alleging disrespect towards Lord Jesus Christ in the movie Jaat, and had submitted a memorandum demanding the registration of a case.

In the complaint to the police, the accused were alleged to have hurt the religious sentiments of the Christian community by mimicking the crucifixion scene of Lord Jesus Christ in Jaat.

According to reports, a scene in the film shows Randeep's character standing under a crucifix inside a church, right above the holy pulpit, as people are praying.

The movie features Randeep Hooda as the main antagonist, with a supporting cast that includes Regina Cassandra, Saiyami Kher, Vineet Kumar Singh, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab, and Jagapathi Babu in significant roles.

This is getting ridiculous. Every movie nowadays faces some complaint or the other. People need to understand creative expression! 🙄

As a Christian, I haven't seen the movie yet but if they've really mocked our Lord's crucifixion, that's completely unacceptable. There's a line between creative freedom and disrespect.

Sunny Deol is my favorite but he should be more careful with his script choices. The first Jaat was great, no need to offend anyone in the sequel.

Instead of filing FIRs, why don't people just boycott the movie if they don't like it? Legal action for every little thing is making our country look bad internationally.

I saw the movie - the scene is being blown out of proportion. It's just Randeep standing near a cross, not mocking anything. People need to watch before complaining!

Respectfully, filmmakers should consult religious leaders when depicting sacred imagery. A little sensitivity could prevent these situations. ❤️

The real issue is our legal system being used as a tool for publicity. Both sides - complainants and filmmakers - know this FIR will get them free media coverage.
