Everyone is interpreting situation in their own way: Ajit Pawar on Sanjay Raut's remarks on AI-171 crash

Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar urges focus on facts after Shiv Sena UBT's Sanjay Raut raises sabotage theories over Ahmedabad plane crash.

"Everyone is interpreting the situation in their way... I request we focus on the facts. - Ajit Pawar"

Pune, June 14

After Shiv Sena UBT MP Sanjay Raut raised serious questions about possible sabotage in the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that everyone is interpreting the situation in their way.

Reacting to Raut's statement, Pawar said, "Several theories are surfacing. Some retired pilots are sharing their views. Some experts are also commenting. Everyone is interpreting the situation in their way. You should also know that one person survived this crash. So, while many people are speaking from different perspectives, I request that we focus on the facts of what happened."

Earlier today, Raut raised serious questions about possible sabotage in the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, which killed 241 people. He asked whether there was any cyber-attack on the system of the plane by any enemy country, as they try to target India's military installations with their cyber attacks.

"I am not an expert, but there are serious questions about sabotage in the Air India plane that crashed in Ahmedabad within 30 seconds of takeoff. Was there any cyber attack on the system of the plane by any enemy country, as they try to target our military installations with their cyber attacks?" Raut said in a press conference in Mumbai.

The Shiv Sena UBT MP added, "The BJP was against the Boeing deal when it happened, and Praful Patel was the Minister of Civil Aviation at that time. People are afraid of travelling by air now. Maintenance is the key for the aviation sector. Who has the maintenance contract for Ahmedabad? Why was Ahmedabad selected for this? Why did the accident happen to the flight from Ahmedabad airport? The way ministers were behaving on the debris of the plane is really sad."

Meanwhile, speaking on the COVID-19 situation in the state, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra said that there is no need to panic and the Health Minister is closely monitoring the situation.

Pawar added that the number of COVID-19 cases in Pune is under control.

"The Chief Minister is being briefed about the situation in every cabinet meeting. The number of COVID-19 cases in Pune is under control. The Health Minister himself is keeping a close watch on the matter... There is no need for citizens to panic... Basic precautions have been advised to the public," Pawar told reporters.

Ajit Pawar is absolutely right - we should wait for official investigation rather than jumping to conspiracy theories. These speculations only create unnecessary panic among flyers. My heart goes out to the victims' families 🙏

While Raut's questions seem valid, this isn't the time for politics. 241 lives were lost! First let's support the families, then investigate properly. The way ministers behaved at crash site was indeed insensitive - they should show more respect.

As an aviation enthusiast, I can say crashes rarely happen due to single factor. It's usually chain of events - technical failure, human error, weather etc. Cyber attack theory seems far-fetched without evidence. Let DGCA do their job!

Why is Pawar dismissing concerns so quickly? After Pulwama, can we really rule out sabotage? Our enemies are always looking for weak spots. The government must thoroughly investigate ALL possibilities, not just technical faults.

Both sides are playing politics over dead bodies. Shameful! Focus should be on: 1) Compensation for families 2) Better aviation safety 3) Transparent investigation. Enough of this blame game while people are grieving 😡

The COVID update was much needed. With monsoon coming, we must stay alert. As for the crash - whether it's sabotage or accident, our aviation maintenance standards need serious improvement. Too many close calls recently!
