Seeing Shabana ji and Naseeruddin Shah together always brings back memories of their powerful performances in Benegal's films. This parallel cinema era was the golden age of storytelling. We need more of this and less masala sometimes, honestly.

It's bittersweet. He celebrated his 90th and left us soon after. But what a full life, and what an incredible contribution to Indian cinema. His films are textbooks for any film student. Rest in peace, sir.

As someone newer to Indian cinema, this is a lovely glimpse into its history. I watched "Manthan" recently and was blown away. It's amazing to see the personal side of these iconic figures.

While I respect his work, I sometimes feel we over-glorify the past. His films were brilliant, no doubt, but today's filmmakers are also doing great work in different genres. Every era has its own charm.

My parents grew up on his films. "Bhumika" with Smita Patil is still discussed at home. This photo is a treasure. Thank you, Divya Dutta, for sharing this intimate moment. These artists are our national pride. ❤️
