This decision of PM Modi will benefit people a lot: Haryana CM on GST reforms

Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini praises PM Modi's GST reforms, citing benefits for farmers and lower prices on medicines and insurance.

"Today, Prime Minister Modi has given a very big gift to the people of the country through GST reforms - Nayab Singh Saini"

Kurukshetra, September 22

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday lauded Prime Minister Modi for the GST reforms and said that this decision of PM Modi will benefit the countrymen a lot.

On the occasion, CM Saini also launched the GST Savings Festival during Shardiya Navratri.

"Heartfelt greetings and congratulations to everyone on the occasion of Sharadiya Navratri and Agrasen Jayanti... Today, Prime Minister Modi has given a very big gift to the people of the country through GST reforms, which has benefited people a lot. We have also launched the GST Savings Festival today..." Saini told reporters.

The Haryana Chief Minister also mentioned the decrease in the prices of farmers' equipment, which will benefit a state like Haryana, whose majority of the population is engaged in Agriculture.

"GST has been reduced on farmers' equipment, and GST has been set to zero on daily use items... This decision of Prime Minister Modi will benefit people a lot. GST has been reduced on medicines and insurance...," added Saini.

He further mentioned that the purchase of paddy crop in Ladwa and Mandi has started from today.

"In addition, on the occasion of Sharadiya Navratri and Agrasen Jayanti, the purchase of paddy crop in Ladwa and Mandi has also started from today," added Saini.

The reform in the Goods and Services Tax structure, which was approved during the 56th meeting of the GST Council earlier this month, has come into effect from today. The current four-rate system has been replaced with a streamlined two-slab regime of 5% and 18%. A separate 40 per cent slab has been retained for luxury and sin goods.

This new framework is expected to ease compliance, reduce consumer prices, boost manufacturing, and support a wide range of industries, from agriculture to automobiles and from FMCG to renewable energy. It is intended to lower the cost of living, strengthen MSMEs, widen the tax base, and drive inclusive growth.

Good move by PM Modi. Simplifying GST to two main slabs will make compliance easier for small businesses. The zero rating on daily essentials is much needed relief for middle-class families. 👍

While the reforms sound promising, I hope the implementation is smooth. GST has been complicated since the beginning. Let's see if this actually benefits common people or just creates more confusion.

Reducing GST on medicines and insurance is a welcome step! Healthcare costs have been rising too much. This should help many families manage their medical expenses better. 💊

Launching during Navratri is a smart move - auspicious timing! Hope these reforms bring real economic growth and not just political announcements. The MSME sector needs genuine support.

As a small business owner, I'm cautiously optimistic. The two-slab system sounds simpler, but I'll believe it when I see easier filing processes. GST compliance has been a headache so far.
