Union Minister Pralhad Joshi contrasted the UPA’s policy paralysis with Modi’s decisive governance, citing poverty reduction and direct farmer benefits. He emphasized stable leadership as key to India’s progress, backed by data on welfare schemes. The Jan Man Survey’s rapid public response highlights citizen engagement under Modi’s administration. Joshi framed the last decade as transformative, crediting BJP policies for measurable socio-economic gains.

Bengaluru, June 10

Union Minister Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday said that country was facing a serious policy paralysis due to instability and weak leadership of the UPA government (2004-2014) at the Centre adding that under the 11 years of leadership Prime Minister Narendra Modi nation has witnessed consistent growth across sectors.

"Before 2014, the country was facing serious policy paralysis due to instability and weak leadership. As a result, governance suffered and development stalled. Today, under PM Modi, we have a stable government and strong leadership, which has enabled consistent growth and visible development across sectors. Just to cite an example, the percentage of people living in extreme poverty has drastically reduced, from around 21 per cent to just 5 per cent. More than 26 crore people have come out of multidimensional poverty. This transformation clearly reflects the positive impact of stable governance," Union Minister Joshi said.

Union Minister further said the Modi government has received the trust of the people for its good governance carried out in the last 11 years.

"Under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Samman Yojana, we have deposited Rs 3.70 lakh crore directly into the accounts of farmers... Rs 25 crore people have benefited from it... In every such area, the Modi government has moved forward as a decisive government. We have also received the trust of the people," he added.

To commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 11 years in office, the Narendra Modi App or NaMo App has launched the 'Jan Man Survey.'The survey quickly gained significant traction, with over 5 lakh responses from citizens across India in a single day. This unique survey is designed to engage people actively in the democratic process, empowering them to express their opinions on key national issues and government initiatives.

Announced by Prime Minister Modi through X, the Jan Man Survey allows people to share their feedback and opinions with the government directly.By collecting responses from all corners of the country, the survey ensures that the people's voices are heard and considered in shaping future policies.

The Jan Man Survey is a dynamic survey hosted on the NaMo App that allows Indian citizens to express their views on a wide range of topics, ranging from national security and governance to cultural pride and youth development. With over 500,000 responses already (in 26 hours since launch), the survey has emerged as a critical tool for directly and meaningfully engaging with the public and ensuring that their voices contribute to the nation's development.

While development has certainly happened, we must acknowledge that some schemes like Swachh Bharat have made visible impact. But the minister should also talk about rising unemployment among educated youth - that's the real policy paralysis we're facing now! 🧐

As a farmer's daughter from Maharashtra, I can vouch for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. The direct benefit transfer has helped my family during tough times. No middlemen, no corruption - this is what good governance looks like! 🙏

The Jan Man survey is a great initiative! Finally, common people like us can give direct feedback to the PM. Filled it yesterday - hope they really consider our suggestions for better roads and healthcare facilities in tier-2 cities.

Policy paralysis was real during UPA - remember how infrastructure projects used to get stuck for years? Today at least things move faster. But I wish the current government would focus more on women's safety and education too.

The poverty reduction numbers are impressive, but what about inflation? Aata-dal prices affect common people more than big statistics. Government should balance between macro growth and micro-level difficulties faced by middle class families.

Digital India initiatives have truly transformed governance! From paying bills to applying for documents - everything is so much easier now. The UPA era feels like ancient history when we had to stand in queues for everything. #NewIndia
