Brought good environment in UP: Bulldozer Baba features in Kanwar Yatra

UP villagers carry "Bulldozer Baba" kanwar praising CM Yogi Adityanath's anti-encroachment drive during Kanwar Yatra pilgrimage

"We are inspired by Baba's work... He has brought such a good environment in UP - Ashu, Kanwar Yatri"

Haridwar, July 18

A few locals from Mansoorpur village in the Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh are undertaking the Kanwar Yatra while highlighting the efforts made by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath against illegal encroachment.

CM Adityanath has gained the nickname "bulldozer baba" due to his emphasis on bulldozer justice against lawbreakers in Uttar Pradesh.

The Kanwariyas from Mansoorpur took out a "Bulldozer Baba" kanwar, featuring Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath.

Ashu, one of the Kanwar Yatris, told ANI, "The Kanwar has come from Mansoorpur. We are inspired by Baba's work (UP CM Yogi Adityanath's work). So, we are taking this Kanwar. He has brought in such a good environment in UP. So, we are taking this Kanwar in his name. People are asking us about this and joining us."

Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Haridwar and participated in the event organised at the Ganga Ghat near Om Bridge and welcomed and honoured the Shiva devotees Kanwariyas from all over the country by washing their feet. He also participated in the organised Bhajan Sandhya.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Dhami said, "It is my good fortune to have had the opportunity to wash the feet of Shiva devotees, the Kanwariyas, and receive their blessings. He congratulated all the administrative officers, including those from HRDA and the Haridwar Police, for the successful event. He said that by merely offering water, Lord Shiva fulfils the wishes of all his devotees, and in the month of Shavan, the effect of devotion to Lord Shiva increases tremendously."

"Travelling hundreds and thousands of kilometres from all over the country, Shiva devotees Kanwariyas take the water of Ganga from the religious city of Haridwar and perform Jalabhishek. He said that Kanwar Yatra is not only a symbol of devotion and faith, but it also gives us an opportunity to become a part of virtue in service," he added.

So far this year, more than one crore Shiva devotees have left for their respective destinations on the Kanwar Yatra.

Speaking to reporters, the Chief Minister said that devotees have expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made and prayed for a safe yatra for all participants.

"There is a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees for this Kanwar Yatra. All stakeholders make all arrangements to conduct this yatra well. The devotees have expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made. I pray for a safe yatra for all devotees", Dhami said.

The Kanwar Yatra began on July 10. During the annual pilgrimage, Kanwariyas collect holy water from rivers and carry it over hundreds of kilometres to offer it at Lord Shiva temples. Devotees across the country observe fasts, perform rituals, and undertake the Yatra as a mark of devotion.

While I appreciate the development work, we must ensure that bulldozer actions follow proper legal procedures. Some innocent people might get affected in this process. Balance is important!

CM Dhami washing feet of Kanwariyas shows true humility. Our leaders should connect with people's faith like this more often. Uttarakhand is setting a great example of devotion + governance.

The Bulldozer Baba kanwar is innovative! But let's not forget the real essence of Kanwar Yatra is spiritual, not political. Hope this doesn't become a trend of mixing religion with politics.
