New Delhi, Mar 8 : Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) during the Month of February 2011 was 6.92 lakh as compared to FTAs of 6.01 lakh during the month of February 2010 and 4.90 lakh in February 2009.
There has been a growth of 15.1 pc in February 2011 over February 2010 as compared to a growth of 22.7 pc registered in February 2010 over February 2009.The 15.1pc growth rate in FTAs in February, 2011 was substantially higher than 9.7 pc growth rate observed in January, 2011. FTAs during the period January-February 2011 were 12.30 lakh with a growth of 12.7 pc , as compared to the FTAs of 10.92 lakh with a growth of 12.4 pc during January-February 2010 over the corresponding period of 2009
Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEE) during the month of February 2011 were Rs. 7653crore as compared to Rs. 6646 crore in February 2010 and Rs. 4547crore in February 2009.
The growth rate in FEE in Rupee terms in February 2011 over February 2010 were 15.2 pc as compared to 46.2 pc in February 2010 over February 2009.
FEE from tourism in rupee terms during January-February 2011 were Rs. 13430 crore with a growth of 9.7 pc , as compared to the FEE of Rs. 12239 crore with a growth of 33.8 pc during January-February 2010 over the corresponding period of 2009.
FEE in USUSD terms during the month of February 2011 were USUSD 1684 million as compared to FEE of USUSD 1434 million during the month of February 2010 and USUSD 923 million in February 2009.
The growth rate in FEE in USUSD terms in February 2011 over February 2010 was 17.4 pc as compared to the growth of 55.4 pc in February 2010 over February 2009.
FEE from tourism in terms of USUSD during January-February 2011 were USUSD 2957 million with a growth of 11.6 pc , as compared to USUSD 2649 million with a growth of 42.1 pc during January-February 2010 over the corresponding period of 2009.
