Pitsco Education Cracks the Early Learning Code with KUBO Robotics
(4 months ago)
PITTSBURG, Kan: Pitsco Education announced today an exclusive partnership with KUBO Robotics to bring KUBO, a simple, intuitive, plug-and-learn robot, to K-2 classrooms across the U.S. Designed like a puzzle, KUBO's TagTile programming language is tangible, intuitive and completely screenless - making it easy for teachers to adopt and offer younger students a social and hands-on opportunity to learn basic coding concepts and essential 21st-century skills during early childhood development.
"Technology has the power to positively transform learning experiences, yet it often does little more than encourage students to simply move objects around on a screen," said Tommy Otzen, CEO and cofounder of KUBO Robotics. "In a world where 47 percent of all jobs are expected to be automated by 2034, we set out to create an easy and fun coding solution where children could physically manipulate, experiment and problem-solve the same way an engineer does when developing creative solutions. We're proud to join forces with Pitsco Education so we can help inspire children throughout the U.S. to become actual creators — not just consumers — of technology."
The introduction of the KUBO coding solution to the U.S. K-2 education market comes at a time when recent Gallup research revealed a majority of schools don't teach coding despite its growing demand and interest among educators, parents and learners. Without any screens or software to worry about, KUBO removes the common barriers that many primary school teachers face when embedding technology skills into the curriculum. The solution is up and running in five minutes, with no previous experience required. Now, young digital natives can build and program a robot with Pitsco Education and KUBO Robotics with their new age-appropriate K-2 coding solution.
"It is when we are at play that our minds are the most engaged," said Stephan Turnipseed, executive vice president and chief strategy officer of Pitsco Education. "Coding, like all impactful learning, is best done in a hands-on, play-based environment. We are thrilled to be teaming up with KUBO Robotics in a joint commitment to providing shared, learner-centered experiences that engage hands and minds in a fun context for both the student learners and the teachers."
KUBO Coding Solution Features:
EASY TO ADOPT: KUBO's user-centric design was developed with educators and students around the world. Without any screens or software to worry about, KUBO removes the common barriers that many primary school teachers face when embedding technology skills into the curriculum. The solution is up and running in five minutes, with no previous experience required.
UNIQUE TAGTILE SYSTEM: Offers students new ways to learn — it's as simple as snapping together the pieces of a puzzle.
HIGH CURRICULUM RELEVANCE TO MAXIMIZE LEARNING OUTCOMES: While KUBO introduces the basics of computational thinking by covering sequences, functions, subroutines and loops, its expandable solution covers multiple curriculum subjects, such as language, science and mathematics, in an open-ended, hands-on way.
EASY TO DIFFERENTIATE: Instant success; no matter what level students are at, KUBO takes students from simple to advanced levels of programming and computational thinking.
Availability and Upcoming Initiatives:
Beginning April 2018, the KUBO K-2 coding solution will be available for purchase in a single set and a four-pack throughout the U.S., exclusively through Pitsco Education at www.pitsco.com. For preorders, contact:
