VERB Interactive Grows Westward, Expands to British Columbia
(3 months ago)
HALIFAX, Feb. 13: VERB Interactive is announcing its official entry into the west coast. With new office space in Victoria, BC and recruitment of top local talent underway, operations will begin in the coming weeks.
The west coast presence complements VERB's growing partnerships with a number of clients including Tourism Victoria, Destination British Columbia, and several travel and tourism industry leaders south of the border, including Pebble Beach Resorts, Napa Valley Wine Train, Amtrak Vacations, and Universal Studios Hollywood.
"It's a huge milestone for our team and we're excited to take the leap westward," says Andy MacLellan, president and founder of VERB. "While we've always worked with clients all over the world from our Halifax office, expanding our team to Victoria was an opportunity we couldn't overlook any longer."
Well known for its thriving tech and creative sectors, a booming tourism industry, and scenic surroundings, MacLellan says Victoria was a natural fit for VERB. The new office space will open in St. Andrew's Square II, in the heart of downtown Victoria's financial district.
"This market is global—we can work anywhere the best talent wants to work, so we chose Victoria for the same reasons we chose Halifax: great quality of life for our team, a great place to raise a young family, a highly educated, tech-savvy workforce, and scenery that's pretty easy on the eyes, too," says MacLellan.
"VERB Interactive have proven to us they're a best-in-class digital global agency in the travel and tourism space, and their client list is phenomenal," says Paul Nursey, President and CEO of Tourism Victoria. "We're delighted with our partnership and excited to see VERB establish a presence in the Greater Victoria market to service their Western Canadian and US customers. It's also another proof point that Victoria is on the march in tourism, technology, and other lifestyle-driven industries."
VERB plans to hire up to 20 local employees in Victoria in its major service offering areas, including web development, design, content marketing, UX, SEO, and data science. Having recently also expanded their Halifax office to add another 7,000 square feet, MacLellan says the westward expansion is well-timed as the company prepares to announce and begin work on several new relationships in the coming months.
"We can't wait to get started in Victoria and meet people who share our passion for delivering incredible work for our clients," says MacLellan. "We're also excited to support the BC Tourism Industry Conference happening in March and look forward to participating and meeting more local industry partners."
