New Delhi, Oct 22 : National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) on Friday handed over a dividend cheque of Rs.56.15 crore to B.K. Handique, Union Minister of Mines and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER).
This is the 10pc final dividend cheque amounting to Rs.56.15 crore on the 87.15pc shares held by the Government of India.NALCO - India's leading manufacturer and exporter of alumina and aluminium, under the Ministry of Mines has declared a total dividend of 25pc amounting to Rs.161.08 crore (15pc interim paid in March 2010 and 10pc final being paid now) on the paid-up capital of Rs.644.31 crore, for the financial year 2009-10.
The company has earned a profit after tax of Rs. 814 crores for the year 2009-10.
The balance amount of Rs.8.28 crore is payable to other shareholders of the Company like banks, financial institutions and individual shareholders etc.
