Guwahati (Assam) , Sep.1 :Seven Central Oil PSUs viz. ONGC, IOC, BPCL, HPCL, GAIL, OIL and NRL, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas have contributed Rs.15 crores to the Assam Chief Minister's Flood Relief Fund to aid the flood-affected people of the state.
A cheque of Rs. 15 crores was handed over to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal by the representatives of the oil companies led by ONGC Director (HR) D D Misra at the CM's Office in Guwahati today.

This is an initiative taken by the Central Oil PSUs under the leadership of Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas.

As responsible corporate citizens, this is a token gesture by the companies to lend a helping hand to the state machinery in dealing with the magnitude of destruction and damage caused by the recent floods which has resulted in large scale loss of lives and property and displacement of lakhs of people from their homes.

The chief minister appreciated and thanked all the oil PSUs for extending their helping hand to the flood-affected people of Assam.

He also suggested that the oil PSUs work in an integrated way for the development of Assam and the North East.
