CPI (M) condemns RSS leader Chandrawat's 'outrageous' remark
New Delhi , Mar 2 : Condemning Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) leader Kundan Chandrawat for announcing Rs. one crore bounty on Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's head, Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Sitaram Yechury on Thursday said the former's 'outrageous' statement was indicative of fact that the Centre endorses such 'threatening' assertions.
Questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the matter, the CPI (M) leader said: "The Central Government is not responding to this so far is clearly an indication that their sanction is also there for such statements."
Chandrawat, who is the RSS' Mahanagar Prachar Pramukh of Ujjain, sparked a political row today while addressing a public gathering in Ujjain.
In the video, the RSS functionary is heard saying that he would offer Rs. one crore reward to anyone who beheads the Kerala Chief Minister.
Justifying his assertion, Chandrawat further said he made the "explosive statement just like Bhagat Singh used the bomb on British", adding that his intention was to make people "know Hindus are not sleeping."
