New Delhi, June 2 : Demanding formal induction of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra into the party in the face of upcoming Uttar Pradesh and Punjab assembly elections, senior Congress leader Captain Amarinder Singh on Thursday said she would prove a great asset to the party and Congress president and vice president.
"I have been saying it for the past two years that Priyankaji will be a great asset to the party, and will be a great support to her mother Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi," said former Punjab chief minister to reporters after emerging out of a meeting with Rahul Gandhi here.
When asked about the proposed reshuffle in the All India Congress Committee (AICC) following humiliating poll debacles in Assam and Kerala, Amarinder said he was not there to discuss all these stuff.
"I don't know about it. We didn't discuss it; it will be discussed by CP (Congress president) and VP (vice president). We are only dealing with Punjab," he added.
Capt. had on Wednesday said after working as party president for over 20 years if Sonia Gandhi thinks she should pass the responsibility on Rahul, then it's a welcome step.
